Continuous Qr Scanner respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles information when you use it.
The app uses the camera to scan QR codes. Camera images are processed on your device and are not uploaded to the developer, PostHog, or Sentry. The app does not record your screen.
Scanned content and preview outcomes are saved in scan history on your device. They remain there until the app's local data is removed. You can copy content or export history; those actions share the selected content through the destination you choose. Device backup services may include local app data according to your device settings.
When you open a scanned website, the app sends ordinary web requests to that website. The website receives the URL and network information, such as your IP address, and may use cookies or collect data under its own privacy policy.
If you choose Allow analytics, we use PostHog to understand which features people use and improve reliability and speed. You can decline without losing any app features and change your choice under More options → Privacy & analytics. PostHog collection does not start before your choice to allow it.
Analytics include a random app installation identifier, app/build and SDK versions, device model/manufacturer, operating system/version, current app settings, feature interactions, scan counts and categories, camera selection, camera-screen duration, and preview loading durations and outcomes. Content categories are determined on your device, such as URL, text, Wi-Fi, or contact. Analytics also include an approximate country estimated by PostHog from your network IP address. We retain only country name/code from this lookup, not city, region, postal code, time zone, or coordinates. We do not use GPS or request device location access. VPNs and network routing can affect the estimate.
We do not send scanned values, website addresses, Wi-Fi credentials, contact details from QR codes, search terms, copied text, history exports, camera images, or screen recordings to PostHog. We do not use advertising IDs or hardware identifiers for this analytics. PostHog necessarily receives network information when the app contacts its servers. The IP address is used transiently for the country lookup and discarded before analytics event storage.
The installation identifier lets us relate activity from the same installation; the data is pseudonymous rather than guaranteed anonymous. We do not sell this data or use it for advertising or tracking across other companies' apps/sites.
Turning analytics off stops new collection and drops pending app-side events. Events already queued in the analytics SDK or in flight may finish uploading. It does not automatically delete data previously received by PostHog. A later opt-in uses a new random identifier.
The app uses Sentry separately from optional usage analytics to diagnose errors. Diagnostics can include app/SDK version, operating system, device information, error type, stack traces, and technical operation details. Preview diagnostics may include the affected website host and error/status code; the app's explicit preview reports exclude full scanned URLs and query strings. Sentry's default PII collection is disabled. Turning off usage analytics does not turn off Sentry.
PostHog processes optional analytics; Sentry processes technical diagnostics. They act as service providers for the purposes described here. Their privacy information is available at https://posthog.com/privacy and https://sentry.io/privacy/. Provider processing may occur outside your country, subject to the selected hosting regions and applicable transfer safeguards.
